I recently attended Eat! Vancouver Food and Cooking Festival at BC Place Stadium with my friend and fellow blogger, Carolyn Berry. We had a great time! Trying new foods, meeting exhibitors and chatting to some familiar faces. There were celebrity chefs speaking, cooking and competing throughout the day. The festival also featured hundreds of food, beverage and kitchen goods exhibitors along with wineries, breweries and restaurants.
I also really enjoyed the Sips Pavilion. Here you could sip and taste hundreds of different beverages. The Sips Stage featured presentations and tastings of numerous local and regional beers and wines conducted by a variety of industry experts!
Here is a run through of some of my favorite things at the expo.
Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout was so tasty, we tried it a second time mixed with a little raspberry beer and it was like dessert in a glass. What a great summer night cap!
I also discovered my new favorite local summer beer – Parallel 49’s Tricycle Radler. A tasty mix of Bavarian lager and fresh grapefruit juice. It’s light, crisp and refreshing. What a perfect patio beer! It’s a lighter beer, 3.5%.
Many foods I had tried before were featured at the expo this year but I would love to point out one new product I tried and absolutely loved, infused Canadian maple syrup!
Maple syrup can add great flavor to many dishes, baking, salad dressings, marinades and glazes. I especially loved their ginger and apple cider vinegar. The flavor was unbelievable and this option has a lot less sugar than the syrups.
Check out their website and other flavors (including chipolte and lemon grass & lavender and chai!) here: http://www.pureinfusedmaple.ca/
Did you attend Eat! Vancouver this year? What were your favorite finds?
